We gave 5 customers up to $10,000. Here’s how they used it.

In April, we once again gave customers the chance to win the value of their loan (up to $10,000) through the BEST. LOAN. EVER. contest. One thing’s for sure – they were all happy to have some extra money in their pocket. Wondering what they did with their prize?
We caught up with our winners to see how they used their money. Let’s see what they spent their prize on:

Home renovations

One of our winners decided to put the money towards some home renovations. And we weren’t surprised to hear that! Since we first launched the promotion, 30 Canadians have won the value of their loan and we often hear they’ve put the money towards renovating their home. It’s a great investment that will reward them for years to come.

Paying off loans

Some of our winners decided to pay down their outstanding loans. Many put a portion of their money towards their Fairstone loan, and one winner also put money towards the loan for his bike. Paying off debts is definitely a great way to use any extra money, whether it’s prize money from a contest, a tax refund or an inheritance. Vacations and dinners with loved ones

One winner shared that they’re using the money to pay for a family vacation. Another winner celebrated their win and used the prize money for a nice dinner with friends. Time spent with family and friends is invaluable – what a great way for our winners to use their prize!

Saved the money for something special

Some of our winners weren’t sure how they’d spend their prize, and put the money in a savings account until they found something special to spend it on.

One thing we found interesting - most of our winners spread out their prize money on multiple purchases. Many used a portion of their prize to pay off debt, and spent the rest on something more special like time with friends and family.
